Decru, NetApp, Kazeon & Iron Mountain to address unsecured data
Up to 70 end-users to attend industry forum on security best practice in London
March 5, 2007 -Decru, a NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) company, is holding a security forum in conjunction with NetApp, Kazeon and customer, Iron Mountain, to highlight the security risks businesses are exposed to on a daily basis, such as hackers or industrial espionage. Topics to be discussed in the informal style session include the protection of sensitive and private information, intellectual property (IP) and trade secrets.
The forum, to be held on the 6th March in London, will address the issue of identifying and managing sensitive information on desktops, laptops and corporate networks. They will also outline strategies to help identify and manage these risks, as well as the approaches to securing data, depending on a business' specific requirements.
Tony Byers, UK Sales Director from Iron Mountain said: “Data protection is a crucial part of our business, with customers trusting us with the responsibility of their data from storage to destruction. We are taking part in this initiative to advise businesses in all industries that it is vital to protect themselves before a breach of security occurs.”
The forum will also feature a briefing from Kazeon on how to increase data visibility and control of unstructured information, as well as Decru on storage security drivers and customer examples.
Henk Jan Spajnaard, MD EMEA of Decru concludes:” The recent security breach examples, like those of TJX are moving data security up the agenda, but the lack of current legislation means that customers still see it as a risk assessment decision. We are looking forward to welcoming end-users to this forum to advise on best practice approaches to information security.”
