Iron Mountain strengthens its presence in Western France with the acquisition of Anamnis' document management and data protection business
By acquiring part of Anamnis business, Iron Mountain has gained a unique retention center network in the West area as well as reputable expertise.
Morangis, France — June 18, 2007 - Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE: IRM), the global leader in information protection and storage services, today announced it has acquired the records management and data protection related operations of Anamnis, a business specialising in global document management. Since it was founded in 1994, Anamnis has gained a strong reputation in the Western area of France by establishing secure storage centers in such locations as Saint-Denis-la-Chevasse (near La Roche-sur-Yon), Rennes and Caen. Anamnis will now focus exclusively on its offerings in the field of electronic document and workflow management (business process management), as a new independent company called Anamnis GDM. The two companies will continue to collaborate as business partners.
Iron Mountain entered the French market in 1999 and now positions itself as the global trusted partner for records management and data protection services, regardless of the type of media used. Before acquiring the operations from Anamnis, Iron Mountain owned eight record centers in France. For Anamnis, this acquisition provides the opportunity to join an organization with a footprint in 34 countries. Anamnis will thus preserve its local identity and close relationships with customers while opening up to the international level.
“This acquisition is a strategic move that provides us with a high-quality presence in Western France. We are very pleased to welcome a particularly experienced team, which has gained an excellent reputation. Our very similar approach to document management has been instrumental in our choice. We are excited to welcome Anamnis' employees into the Iron Mountain family,” said Robert Fortier, General Manager for Iron Mountain France. “We are also much impressed by Anamnis GDM's services in the field of electronic document and workflow management. A business partnership will enable them to offer their services to international customers, supported by Iron Mountain's expertise and reputation.”
“Joining forces with the global leader in information protection and storage services will benefit our customers and employees. Customers will come to enjoy a broader range of services and the world's largest retention center network,” said Didier Compagnon, Anamnis' CEO and founder. “Anamnis GDM will now be able to focus entirely on developing electronic document and workflow management applications and services. Since early 2006, after five years of research, we have been providing a high-performance innovative portfolio which we intend to build on. We are positioned in an extremely buoyant market.”
