Hofheim am Taunus, August 3, 2007 – This year, Iron Mountain’s presentation at the DMS Expo trade fair (Hall 7, Booth E110) will focus on active document management; specifically on how businesses can manage physical and electronic documents that are still part of an active enterprise workflow.

Iron Mountain’s Document Management services place emphasis on a ramp-up phase in which it analyzes individual document access rates for its clients. Once access rates have been established, Iron Mountain can recommend a document storage modality that is both cost effective and compatible with the business process needs. Physical document archiving, for example, is only appropriate for documents which need to be accessed infrequently. Documents accessed more often, by contrast, should be scanned, indexed and digitally archived. To cut costs further, only those documents should be digitized that the business client needs to access on a regular basis.

Iron Mountain can retrieve any document on-demand and present it to its client in the preferred physical or electronic form. Iron Mountain’s services cover the entire document life cycle – ranging from the capture, sorting and archiving of physical information and the high volume, on-demand scanning and hosting of electronic data to documentation expiry checks and deletion. In this way, the Company assists its customers in fulfilling their statutory compliance obligations.
