Sanderson Weatherall shores up business critical communications channel
~ firm addresses email downtime risk with continuity solution
from Iron Mountain Digital ~
September 27, 2007 – The chartered surveyors and property consultants group Sanderson Weatherall has selected Iron Mountain Digital to implement an email continuity service.
The contract will see the firm introduce Iron Mountain Digital’s Continuity Service for Email, part of the Total Email Management Suite. The suite provides email archiving, storage management, email continuity and security facilities to provide complete email management as a service.
The Continuity Service for Email, which is accessible via the user’s Outlook 2003 client or via a web browser, will ensure the firm’s 260 employees can still send, receive, read and compose emails if systems go down, including historical messages, calendar, contacts etc. After any outage all sent, received, and deleted emails are automatically moved back to the primary exchange server ensuring no loss of data.
In addition to providing business continuity and security, the suite is also capable of incorporating message archiving, dramatically reducing the quantity of emails physically stored on the firm’s exchange server.
“Email is one of the company’s most critical business systems. Should the service go down for any length of time, communication with the outside world would suffer and potential business could be lost,” said Adrian Rich, head of IT at Sanderson Weatherall. “The fully managed solution offered by Iron Mountain Digital ensures we are able to access this vital communications tool at all times.”
“When firms look at business continuity provisions email is high on the list given its’ ever increasing importance in today’s business world,” said Nick Cater, general manager for Northern Europe at Iron Mountain Digital. “The Continuity Service for Email gives Sanderson Weatherall peace of mind ensuring that vital communication links with the outside world are not lost in the event of email downtime.”
