Iron Mountain Europe Enters Swiss Market

LONDON (July 21, 2008) Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE: IRM), the global leader in information protection and storage services, has expanded its European footprint with the acquisition of a minority percentage stake in Swiss records management firm Sispace AG. The signing of the joint venture represents a milestone for Iron Mountain, as the company now has a presence in 20 European countries.

The partial acquisition of the Zug based company includes an option to acquire further stakes over a three-year period. Sispace AG, which will retain its name in the joint venture, is the leading records management company in Switzerland, and has storage centers in Basel, Aesch (Cantone Basle-Land) and Zurich, as well as underground storage facilities in Saanen and Zweisimmen.

Sispace AG will benefit from Iron Mountain’s global leadership and knowledge base in the information protection and storage services industry, whilst Iron Mountain gains Sispace’s local market knowledge and experience. The company has an impressive client list, which includes major banks, financial institutions and pharmaceuticals companies of the Alpine region.

Marc Duale, president of Iron Mountain Europe said: “We are very much looking forward to working with Sispace. In a market where we previously had no presence, I can think of no better partner to enter the Swiss market with.”
